With the general features of format larger and difficult to digitize, the large format scanner is always designed for special needs. It is mainly used to implement the digital of some special fields such as military affairs, mapping, architecture and so on. For the limits of optical width on single CCD, it is particularly important to study and develop multi-CCD technology. Multi-CCD scanner will increase the scan breadth, improve the scan speed and scan precision farther more.The thesis whose research object is multi-CCD scanner, analysis the traditional multi-CCD structure, presents a new multi-CCD scanner data collection structure which is called two layer multi-CCD structures based on VxWorks. By adding two layer of embedded control system between CCD controller and PC, the two layer multi-CCD scanner data collection system is ingeniously resolve the problem that multi-CCD work simultaneity, image combining and cutting, image data storage and transmission, image horizontal dislocation, and so on. The two layer multi-CCD scanner data collection system truly achieves multi-CCD parallel scaning, parallel data accessing, and fundamentally improves the scan speed. This paper detailedly discusses the design concept, the process and the software realization, and the image horizontal dislocation issues were discussed too. This paper has given one kind of method to solve image horizontal dislocation under the two layer multi-CCD scanner data collection system. Finally, confirms the two layer multi-CCD scanner data collection system feasibility and the accuracy through experimentation.
