The last century, VHF communication technology is widely used in the ship communication field. Radar, ARPA has the function of recognizing ship. But because of their own limitations it can not adapt to the modern shipping safety needs. Along with the computer technology, digital communication technology and the rapid development of network information technology, AIS technology has been formed, and meanwhile ship automatic identification system emerge as the times require.Based on the analysis of the AIS technical standards and main features of the foundation, the whole design scheme of the system, the central control and interface circuit were Discussed.The embedded technology also is applied to the AIS programme design by selecting the ARM7microprocessor as a core processor of the central control module. In fact, this design scheme of AIS is a preferable scheme with higher cost performance.
