At the same time, some common search engine algorithms are being described in detail, including Google PR, HITS algorithm, and Hilltop algorithm, among which comparative analyses are done; Furthermore, different ways of SEO are raised. The author observes and analyzes new changes of search engines algorithm of both Baidu.com and Google, giving an outline of SEO in levels, respectively, such as planning, development, web designing and contents maintenance. The differences between methods of optimizing taken by Baidu.com and Google are also mentioned in aspects of web index, external links, internal links, keywords ranking, contents update frequency and punishment rules.Next, the author, taking EDU life (www.edulife.com.cn) as an example, makes a quick diagnosis of SOE in terms of its domain name, website structure, quantity of being-indexed, quantity of eternal links, as well as keywords ranking. Analyses of its diagnosis result are made so as to introduce SOE scheme aiming at Baidu.com.At last, keywords selections are done to main pages of the web, such as home page, channel page, pater-schools page. SEO are carefully carried out both internally and externally. The good effect has shown after2-month practice of SOE by observing some important indicators of the web, like quantity of being-indexed, quantity of external links, search engine ranking, the number of external links and order status.This paper is a conclusion of the work of SOE done in EDU life. And it is surely to be of reference value for further SOE in the future.
