As the core part of the e-commerce system, electronic cash is the main means ofachieving electronic payment system.Reasones which prohibit fully development ofpayment system are as follows: a limited number of payment mechanisms, transactioncosts, presence of a variety of frau, lack of privacy protection, incompatible of theclosed architecture.To solve those problems mentioned above, this issue has put forward a newelectronic cash system based on smart card COS (Card Operating System). Smart cardis the ideal carrier for electronic cash which contains advantages of high reliability,security and storage capacity.This research mainly works on the following aspects:1. Design and optimize the model of smart card operating system. Selectmicrokernel structure and subdivide it into six modules as regarding of package: I/Omodule, hardware control module, memory access module, data security accessmodule, random generator module, encryption algorithm service module.2. Adapt C and assembly language to build the prototype of electronic cashsystem. Analyze the potential problems by emulator, including: anti-cross ofmulti-application, key system, mode switching control of on-line and off-line,transaction risk control, data backup and anti-power-down, disk average weartechnology, dual interface communication control of contact and contactless.3. Test and improve the electronic cash system. The testing includes design oftest scripts, building virtual financial terminals, simulating trading scene, etc.Thisissue has also succeeded in mading a prototype and verifying the results.Through detailed researches mentioned above, the electronic cash system basedon smart card COS has the following advantages:(1) Support both of offline andonline payment mechanisms.(2) Offline payment is the default module and uploadtrading results in batch. As a result, no additional investment of central processingsystem is needed with the growth of trading volume. Besides, when network isunstable, electronic cash system will have no influence.(3) Combine the USB KEYfunctional and financial IC card together, which ensures the security whentransporting data from card into USB KEY via the network terminal.(4) Possessadvanced risk management features of standard debit and credit, so fraud and bad debtis less likely to happen.(5) Anonymity is realized because no bank is involved duringtransaction process.(6) Follow the financial industry standard "China financialintegrated circuit (IC) card specification JR/T0025-2010". As a result, debit andcredit function is compatible.
