The actual demand for the monitoring of the laboratory corridor,this paperintroduces a design based on embedded technology of remote monitoring system. Theremote monitoring systems established through embedded S3C2440platform,it usesversion of fedora14embedded Linux operating system and type of S3C2440embedded microprocessor as the core platform,transfers packed data which wascollected by CMOS cameras with USB interface through net work, to complete thetask of site monitoring.This paper designs the hardware unit circuit of the remote monitoring system,builds a software development platform for the remote monitoring system andachieves the software designing of the remote monitoring system and the collectingand transferring of video data. The system hardware unit circuit includes a powercircuit, a reset circuit, a memory circuit, a network interface, a serial interface, aJTAG interface, a USB interface, a clock circuit, etc. System software platformbuilding includes virtual environment and Linux operating system installation,cross-compiling environment establishment and system transplantation, namelycomprises BootLoaders transplantation and start-up process, the compiling andtransplantation of Linux kernel, the root file system construction and transplantation,system software designing includes designing of Linux driver, namely consists ofUSB driver and camera driver, video collection and transmission, also building of BoaWeb server which is available for data transmission of embedded video monitoring.At last, it also includes overall test and analysis of the system and the testing resultwhich supporting to meet demand.The system can meet the monitoring of the actual needs of the laboratory corridor,and monitoring to good effect.This embedded remote monitoring system can bewidely used in other monitoring areas, such as residential quarters, office space.Therefore, the process and results of this study has certain practical engineeringsignificance.
