By analyzing the development of data transmission and control system in variousfields, combined with the actual development of radio direction finding station system,this paper studied the application of data transmission and control unit in radio directionfinding station, designed and implemented FPGA-based high-efficiency and lowredundant data transmission and control subsystem.According to the characteristics of each subsystem in the radio direction findingstation, this paper builded the overall design scheme for data transmission and control unit,did detailed classification of the tasks and functions of data transmission and control unit.Combined with FPGA technology, this paper made a detailed module division, analyzedthe required on-chip and external resources and requirements of data transfer rate andtiming, determined the relevant devices selection, all based on phase interferometeralgorithm.This paper designed and implemented multi-source data caching, transmission andcontrol, including the formulation and implementation of complex data transmission andcontrol protocol, design and implementation of a large state machine, design andimplementation of local interface module which communicates with each peripheraldevices.This paper achieved the above-mentioned data transmission and control unit usingverilog HDL language, verified the correctness of the logic function and timing for eachsub-module by simulation, and then did overall compilation and simulation for thetop-level file and generated programmable file to download it to the FPGA chip in radiodirection finding station for system joint debugging. The results showed that the scheduledrequirements were met under the data transfer rate and logic function by designing thedata transmission and control unit which could receive and cache then upload dataefficiently and reasonably.By analyzing the damands of actual system, based on phase interferometer algorithm,combined with the full knowledge and understanding of logic resources of programmable logic chip, this paper designed a reasonable data transmission and control system schemeand implemented it in the FPGA chip. In the system test, this paper verified the rationalityand reliability of the scheme, indicating that the design can meet the requirements of datatransmission and control unit in radio direction finding station.
