During the forming,transferring and memorizing of the digital images,the images are often corrupted by different kinds of noises because of the defection of the imaging system,transferring medium and memorizing equipment.Therefore,in the fields of pattern recognition,computer vision,image analyzing and video coding,the early vision processing is very important.The result of it will directly affect the quality and outcoming of the later processing.Filtering is the main part of the pre-processing. Filtering is divided into linear and nonlinear filtering. Different from the linear filter,the non-linear filter can not only remove noise effectively but also keep the details of the digital images,so images can be clearer and more vivid.As an effective processing technology,the non-linear filter is widely used in the digital image processing.Median filters are representative.For typical median filter it can remove the impulse noise,but it also corruptes some very important details of the images.For this reason, Scholars have developed a number of improved median filtering algorithm. This article is also limited to this context, the main work is as follows:Research on the existing improved median filter,variety of algorithm methods,characteristics,inadequacies,applications in image filtering are find,On this basis,For resolving the contradiction of switch median filtering(SM), Two modified non-linear filtering algorithms are proposed in this paper,such as the Adaptive Switching Median filter algorithm and the switching median filter based on difference algorithm.these two algorithms pay more attention on contradiction between the window size and the details protection,It also takes into account whether the pixels in the image are corrupted and may damage some important detail problems in image.Simulation results show that the proposed adaptive switching median filter algorithm, it can filter out noise effective and at the same time it protect more image details, It have more superior filtering performance than (TM) filter, (EM) and filter (PSM) filter,especially in high density image noise, the adaptive switching median filter filter effect more visible. The difference-based adaptive switching median filter Simulation results show that the algorithm in the noise detection and noise filtering aspects are effective, when the distribution of image noise is uneven, the filter can also achieve better results.
