Study on transients of hydraulic machinery is very important to the hydropowerstation structure design and safe operation. And research in this area has obtained lots ofachievements. Its computational theories and methods have been improved better to meetthe needs of present research. At present, simulation software of hydraulic transients ofhydraulic machinery have been used to the simulation computation of specific practicalhydropower project. Based on this, simulation software has been developed in thisresearch, and the paper has proposed and achieved a new intuitive and efficient modelingmethod by using visual components.According to the computational theories of hydraulic transients and the mathematicalmodels of the hydropower station system, the paper modularized different parts of thesystem. The paper had also created various visual components, and then developed agraphic modeling method. The user can build an engineering model through the way of“building with blocks", and fill out the simulation parameters through the componentproperty interfaces. Therefore, the software can made the process of modeling finishedquickly. Then the user can save the simulation parameters and do the simulationexperiment.Through the using of a rapid application development platform, computer simulationtechnology and visualization technology, we have developed simulation software with agood man-machine interface. The various interfaces have clear significance, and can beoperated easily. It can complete the set of parameters quickly. Then it can start thesimulation, and provide real-time display of the waveform. The software also has functionof outputting the simulation data. The simulation test data can be saved to a text fileaccording to the needs of the users, so that the researchers can conduct the follow-upstudy.The software has been designed to professionals in hydropower fields. With realizingthe function of hydraulic transients’ simulation, the author also focuses on improvingoperational experience. So users can quickly be proficient in the operating of the software for the simulation of hydraulic transients of hydraulic machinery.
