With the development of hyperspectral remote sensing technology,hyperspectral remote sensing image space, spectral resolution and to quantify thedepth of rapid growth increase the amount of data that lead to spectral image, createenormous pressure spectrum data transmission and storage, has seriously hamperedthe hyperspectral remote sensing technology developments. Therefore, the spectralimage data compression became a necessity. In order to break through spectral imagecompression areas of the study was limited software limitations, this paper designs thehardware of the spectral image compression system.Firstly, research the status and direction of development at home and abroadspectral image compression technology, the mechanism of image compression as wellas basic compression system composed of function blocks. Analyzes thecharacteristics of the spectral image data, for its spectral, spatial correlation, proposedindependent component analysis (ICA) and discrete wavelet transform (DWT)relative to the Joint decorrelation algorithm, the image of the independent components(ICs) compressed stream is encoded. In order to facilitate follow-up hardware design,the software simulation of the JPEG2000compression standard the same approach.Analysis of complete compression is completed, unzip the process functionblocks, the design of an FPGA based JPEG2000standard image compressiontheADV212special chip as the core of the hardware compression system, the systempower supply, input and output data, storage, configuration, etc. module.
