Plastic fiber-optic camera with plastic optical fiber image transmitting bundle as imagetransmission components has many advantages, such as pliability, simple structure, not easilybroken wires, light weight, high cost performance, and long-distance low-loss transmission of theimage. Plastic fiber-optic camera has broad application prospects for video surveillance, lifedetection and so on.In this study, the system structure of plastic fiber-optic camera is designed. The design,production, selection principles of plastic optical fiber image bundles,front-end objective lens andback-end coupling lens are majorly studied. Finally, the overall optical structure of the fiber-opticcameras and fiber-optic camera prototype demonstration system are given. The plastic fiber bundlesare prepared with commercial PMMA (Polymethylmethacrylate) optical fiber by row of silklamination method and accumulation-heat fusion-stretching method. On this basis, the research onproduction methods of large-size plastic optical fiber panel are carried out. The fiber bundles usedin this experiment contains4096single fibers of250μm in diameter,its cross-section is square withdiagonal length of22mm. The overall length of the fiber bundle is15m and the numerical apertureis0.61. The designed front-end objective lens,which improves the observation range of system,isanti-distance telecentric wide-angle lens, and its field of view angle is up to90°. |
