Currently, it has been applied in the field of modern technology in industrialautomation, intelligent structure, etc. In actual measurement, an optical fiber ranging achievefurther solve the use of manual measurements and the dangerous place or macro displacementdetection problem. In this paper, optical fiber sensors have been designed inthe innovative approach and applied to the detection of industrial device length.Firstly, optical fiber of the device selected side-emitting plastic optical fiber, Quintanaemitting principle of plastic optical fiber is used to design a new sensor mode, it changes thedrawbacks that fiber-optic sensors only can measure the micro distance。After severalexperiments and data analysis, plastic optical fiber displacement sensors are designed andselected the appropriate illumination source and a photo detector. The structure of the fiberprobe is an important innovation in this article.Secondly, the design of whole circuit is based on the content on the front, structurediagram side-emitting plastic fiber optic detection system and hardware system are shown.Light source circuit, light signal receiving and transfer circuit, a signal processing systemcircuit, analog to digital conversion circuit and the display circuit were designed, the chip ofSTC89C52is used for the core device and the chip of ICL7135is used for data processing, thefinal data results are displayed digital tube.Finally, the circuit diagram to be simulated by Proteus software, and set up the physicalpart, and then draw a circuit board by Altium Designer, the experimental data was measuredby Keil software programming and hardware debugging, and analysis of experimental datasystems.
