After PROFIBUS, Industrial Control focuses more and more onIndustrial Wireless Network. In September,2008, HART communicationfoundation officially announced the Wireless-HART Network Protocol. As a wireless network standard specially designed for industrialcircumstances, Wireless-HART processes high-reliability, regid real-timeand strong security. In recent years, both academic and engineering circlehave been attracted by Wireless-HART, due to its advantages in industrialcircumstances. Especially, when applied to large-scale networks, therouting protocols become more important and more essential, for awell-performed routing protocol could shorten end-to-end delay, improvepacket drop rate, and reasonably manage the net congestion. This dissertation starts from Wireless-HART protocol, systematicallydiscusses the architecture of Wireless-HART, studies and analyzes severalrouting protocols in wireless networks, summarizes their advantages anddisadvantages, describes the traits of the network topologies which are fitfor them.Wireless-HART networks are designed for high-interference,high-complexity enviroments. On the other hand, the routing in Wireless-HART is configured by network manager, that is to say, therouting algorithm is centralized. According to these conditions, thedissertation proposes a load-balance, limited-redundancy, multipathrouting algorithm. This algorithm basically solves two problems:redundant path search and load-balanced path arbitration. Redundant pathsearch can improve the reliability of the network; and the multi-pathselection is based on load balance criteria. After that, this dissertationoptimizes the routing algorithm using branch and bound, reduces the timecomplexity of the algorithm. At the end, this dissertation realizes the Wireless-HART protocol onNS2from top to bottom, also, the new routing algorithm is implementedin the network layer. After conducting simulation experiments on thenetwork topology, analyzing the simulation results, this dissertationcomes to a conclusion, the load-balance, limited-redundancy, multipathrouting algorithm we proposed has effectively enhanced the networkreliability, and balanced the load on communicating nodes.
