The bridge is the important transportation infrastructure of national economic, socialdevelopment and national defense construction. It is of great significance to ensure the bridgeconstruction quality and operation safety. So it is very necessary to regular safe inspection ofthe bridge. Bridge deflection is an important indicator of bridge safety evaluation. Thedetection of deflection is an important part of bridge safety detection. Therefore, it isimportant to make the research of the bridge deflection and the development of theequipment.In the paper, a detailed analysis of home and abroad bridge deflection detectiontechnology is described, and the shortage of the existing bridge deflection test method. Thelinear CCD bridge deflection sensor has been designed and developed with the laserdisplacement technology. The sensor has realized the real time and high precision dynamicdetection of bridge deflection detection. The paper mainly includes the following aspects:Firstly, the overall structure of the bridge deflection sensor has been designed. With theprinciple of the point laser detection, the research solves problems, which includes linearCCD drive, front-end signal processing, control circuit and cache circuits and datatransmission etc.Secondly, the hardware circuit has been designed. The hardware circuit includes powersupply module, the CCD drive circuit module, signal amplification and filtering module, DSPalgorithm module and data communication module, and the preparation of the correspondingprogram.Thirdly, the properties of laser spot on the linear CCD have been analyzed by thecenter-of-gravity algorithm. The working principle of center-of-gravity algorithm has beendescribed. The formula of center-of-gravity algorithm has been deducted. Several waveformshave been analyzed by the center-of-gravity algorithm and the two values. Center-of-gravityalgorithm has been proved to improve the position detection precision of CCD spot throughspot analysis experiment.Finally, the bridge deflection sensor experiments have been accomplished. Experimentalresults show that the accuracy of the linear CCD bridge deflection sensor can meet the need of the bridge security detection.
