Work-piece angle measurement system possesses urgent demand in machining and processing field. Thereafter, research subject of work-piece angle measurement has special significance for machine building and installation and adjustment.For the present, measurement methods based on interferometer, self-collimation telescopes and turntable have been very mature and can basically meet the needs of production machining.But for some angle measurement, above methods are relatively complex.The present paper, on the bases of analyzing traditional work-piece angle measurement methods, put forward a new method for measuring work-piece angle by high precision laser displacement sensor.With this method, two facet angles of the work-piece under measurement can be calculated by analyzing the 2 axis of two intersecting dual faces angle and solving the linear equation.On the bases of analysis of different laser displacement sensors optical probes and their characteristics, a brief account has been given to the optical system and optical-electronics detectors.Then, a direct-type laser displacement sensor optical probe has been selected considering the requirement of angle measurement system. Further, mathematical model has been established for the measurement system, and the error analysis and numerical simulation have been performed.Subsequently, various factors affecting the system measurement precision have been analyzed, some compensation measures have been given to reducing the error.Finally, experimental platform for the experiments has been set up in the laboratory, and experiments have been performed. Analyses and discussion have been performed concerning the experimental results. The main problems encountered during the experiments and the main factors affecting the measurement accuracy have been analyzed in detail, and proposals for solving them have been given.
