Before the actual production of automotive wiring harness, it needs to developthe processing technology route and process planning, whose precondition is thatthe composition of processes and their relationships must be known. However,extracting processes and judging the logical relationship between processes byanalyzing the wiring harness drawings manually, which not only is time-consumingbut also can not guarantee the accuracy. The method that generates the processesand process relations automatically is given in this thesis, which is based on thedomain knowledge of harness and the results of the process design. The mainresearch work of the thesis includes the following three aspects:(1) Established the data model of wiring harness that contains domainknowledge and process characteristics. Firstly the characteristics of the wiringharness drawings were analyzed, and the process characteristics of wiring harnessparts were summarized; secondly the topology and logical relationship of wireswere studied; finally, the definition and its representation of the wiring harnessgraph model were given.(2) Put forward the automatic generation algorithm of processes based on thecharacteristics of the wiring harness. Firstly, the wiring harness graph wasdecomposed according to the loop generation algorithm, then conducted processdesign and extracted the node sets and edge feature sets by the unit of loop. Finally,the mapping from features to processes was established by using the domainknowledge in order to realize the automatic generation of processes of wiringharness.(3) According to the characteristics of the wiring harness production, thelogical relationship between the processes was divided into sequential relationships,mutually exclusive relations and parallel relations, and their formal definitionswere given. Then, the method for generating process relationships automaticallywas given. At last, constraint matrix was used to express the process relations andto reduce the scale of the constraint matrix was considered by using one for everassociated loop.
