Wiring harness is one of the highest demanded products in the Information age across the world. In order to ensure the safety and reliability of the wiring harness which to be used, a strict screening process before production is indispensable.Features of traditional wiring harness detection device are simple and inefficient.In this paper, the status of Harness detection devices provides detailed. Aimed at its disadvantages, a detailed reform program is proposed.The system is mainly divided into two parts, the PCI card and Data Sampling Card.PCI controller card use CH365 as a PCI interface adapter chip, and ATmega 64 acts as the control chip .The usage of dual-port RAM is to achieve MCU and data sharing between the CH365.CH365, and MCU focus their work to ensure that the system speed.Data Sampling Cards use hardware decoding, and high-speed analog switch as the basic detection units. Using 1 times read into eight data greatly enhance the speed of detection.By analyzing the harness that information, the short circuit and open circuit wiring harness judgment methods are introduced in this paper. Based on this, other auxiliary functions can be achieved.The improved system can support the detection up to 8192 test points. In addition, the basic wiring harness testing functions can realize the threshold resistance testing and diode testing. Harness tightness testing also can be realized by working with detection devices. Self-learning capabilities and the usage of the database will have a broad prospect.
