The relay control wiring, also known as"secondary wiring", plays an important part in the safely operating,running and maintaining in the power plant and the substation. Design of secondary wiring is important but time-consuming and laborious.It is usually done by designers under the help of some un-intelligent software such as AutoCAD, which results in long period and low efficiency.Therefore, studying methods and developing system of generating secondary wiring automatically becomes significant and valuable.This paper researches on methods of generating secondary wiring automatically and design of electrical circuit diagram, on the basis of summarizing and analyzing relevant research work. We design and develop a system of generating secondary wiring automatically. The main research achievement is as follows:1. An optimized method of generating secondary wiring automatically is proposed. Firstly, the connected end sets of the relay lines are got using the breadth first search algorithm and the connected relationship of wiring terms is got in the electrical circuit diagram according to different CAD block structure of different element type. Secondly, the appropriate specification of the relay element is chosen by using the equinoctial graph algorithm, and the panel layout diagram is generated automatically by the combining automatic layout and manual intervention. Finally, the optimized path algorithm which passes each vertex in the completed non-directional graph once and only once is put forward, this algorithm and the Prim minimum spanning tree algrotithm can generate the inner panel wiring diagram and terminal wiring diagram automatically.2. Electrical circuit diagram which is important initial data in secondary wiring system is designed based on the prototype plot orders. According to user's needs, the designed system is divided into many independent subsystems which are made up of many engineering diagrams, the engineering diagrams is further subdivided into various criteria circuit which is designed by using the prototype plot orders according to the ciruit function requirement.3. Based on the above methods, a computer aided design software of the system of generating secondary wiring automatically is developed under the platform of AutoCAD 2002 using Visual C++ and ObjectARX.
