Imaging Sonar is playing an irreplaceable role in the field of marine resourceexploitation and underwater detection, with the development of technology and hardwareability recently, the resolution of imaging sonar is greatly improved, the data throughput isalso improved. The data acquisition and storage system is a very imortant part of imagingsonar, the paper design and implement the data acquisition and storage system in thebackground of imaging sonar research and development.The paper design and implement the hardware circuit and the software system of the dataacquisition and storage system based on the given technical parameters, the system adoptFPGA as the processor and NAND Flash as the storage medium, the A/D chip convert theanalog signal to digital signal, the I~2C-Bus and the LVDS is used to transmit command anddata between the data acquistion board and the digital signal processing board, the systeminvoked internal RAM of FPGA to build ping pong buffer. The paper propose and implementa bad block management which is applied to the data acquisition and storage system, thesystem also uses wear-leveling, garbage collection, Error Correcting Code, power-failprotection to improve the efficiency and reliability of the data storage.The test results are presented and analysed in the paper, according to the test, the dataacquisition and storage system meet the expected system requirements. At the last part, thepaper summarizes the whole system characteristic and propose improvement program.
