In recent years, the widely use and the extensive widespread of embedded system, GPRSand Web technology, make the wireless transmission of images a rapid development. Using inmonitoring system, the technology allows the operators to use GPRS network to watch theimages through a browser with a high practical value.In this paper, based on existing technology and the actual situation and needs of the market,combined with wireless mobile communication technology, remote video surveillancetechnology on image acquisition and wireless mobile communication technology is studied andfinally we proposed a wireless remote image transmission solution and completed the overalldesign of the system. In this proposal, we have adopted ARM9microprocessor as a core chipand combined with embedded Linux operating system, we developed remote wirelessmonitoring system by GPRS with the use of Web technology. Through the GPRS network thesystem dials up following PPP protocol. Running in the embedded side, through the CGIprogram Boa server generates dynamic Web pages and interacts with the client and the serverwill make the client directly access server-side video image data with JPEG compressed formatcaptured from the USB camera with OV511chip through the dynamic web page link. Thesystem makes full use of high-speed processing ability of ARM9microprocessor,and taking theJPEG image compression algorithm can achieve high-quality, real-time remote monitoring magetransmission under the limited bandwidth GPRS mobile network.
