Along with the development of society and economy, car numbers soared, China’s coastalprovinces has entered the age of the automobile, to the needs of the traffic information systemincreasingly urgent, digital image processing technology also began in intelligent transportationplay more and more important role. This paper firstly introduces the background and significanceof the subject, the image processing based detection technology in the traffic parameters areapplied in the system test paper, at the same time for the detection of key technology trafficparameters did talk about and research.This paper will in Zhejiang province of Hangzhou intercity monitoring traffic parameters asthe research object, the past traffic parameter examination system error rate high, install andmaintain complex, system scalability lower faults, using the earth coils and video image analysistechnique with the combination of road traffic parameter measurement methods, its advantagesfor front-end for image can do flow testing, license plate, speed monitoring, violate thecomparison analysis and so on many kinds of uses, detection system is convenient installationand maintenance, equipment operation and maintenance cost relatively cheap, at the same time,detection is satisfaction.The contents include the following a few papers parts: first introduced the parameters of thedetection based on traffic intelligent transportation system concept and research situation, thenintroduces digital image processing techniques and image processing and the traffic based onvarious forms of image segmentation method and shadow detection methods, in the shadows toremove technical analysis is adopted in a vehicle is applicable to shadow detection and removalalgorithm, and will present the several major vehicle target detection algorithm is bad detailedcomparison, the paper proposes the background difference method and in combination with rapid adaptive background updates, to achieve the purpose of testing traffic parameters. This paperalso focus on the combination of coils and video analysis technology of road traffic parameterstesting technology, and through the experiments show that the technique has adaptive ability isstrong, the advantages of high accuracy. Based on the technology of the detection system designhas good robustness and practicability, can meet the real-time traffic detection requirementstravel parameters, through this system of road traffic for all kinds of information, can for trafficconstruction department and traffic management to data analysis and road planning with richdata resources, ensuring road planning and traffic management and humanization of feasible.
