Microring resonators can be applied in filters, WDMs, optical switches and lasers because of their unique advantages, such as small dimension, simple production and easy integration. In addition, microring resonators can also be used to control the velocity of light, and slow light can be obtained. The research of slow light deepens the recognition of people to the substance of light. On the other hand, it can be used to produce some key photonic components, such as optical buffer. In this thesis, coupled double-ring resonator and coupled three-ring resonator are investigated systematically. The effects of relevant parameters on transmission, effective phase shift and dispersion of coupled double-ring resonator are summarized. Slow light in coupled double-ring resonator is optimized and designed. Delay and higher-order dispersion in coupled double-ring resonator and coupled three-ring resonator are compared. By optimization the structure parameters to realize flat first-order and low higher-order dispersions are obtained. Research in this thesis is helpful to revealing of the mechanism of the slow light and dispersion effects in microring resonators, and gives a reference to applications of slow light in microring resonators.
