Mine safety issue has been a major problem to plague China’s coal industry, a statistics: latest years, the number of service-incurred death in China’s coal mines are about six thousand people, Coal mine death toll number is equal to four times of death number in the other principal mining countries. China million tons of coal mortality rated as100%of USA and10%of India. Therefore, Reasonable solution to the mine safety problems of China’s coal industry has a very important practical significance. This paper describes the coal mine gas concentration image processing and recognition technologies, including image analysis of the gas concentration, the gray-scale transformation in the digital image processing and coding knowledge, pattern recognition technology commonly used in various algorithms, a special presentation can resolve the subtraction algorithm of the subject, so as to achieve the purpose to identify the gas image.
