Hardness test machine is a important scientific equipment in detecting the hardness of metallic materials and products when these materials is pressed,it belong to the instrumentation industry and is also one of the priority areas that is supported by nation. With the deepening of economic reforms and the increasing market demand, Hardness testing machine in domestic industry is out of the scope of traditional products and developing rapidly toward the high-tech industry. Equipment'automation and intelligent'transformation of the industry has become an important issue faced by.Embedded system has many properties,such as small volume, low power consumption,low cost,high performance and short development period,which make it widely used in various kinds of field,for example, the industry control system,simulation system,medical apparatus,information household appliance,communication equipment.Using image recognition technology to detect Hardness has many unique advantages:such as the non-contact, long-range detection, intuitive, intelligent, anti-jamming and anti-industrial pollution characteristics, detection accuracy can be controlled to a large extent.it is better more than the measure of the material Burinell Hardness base on singlechip and PC in detection accuracy.In this paper,the measurement and control system of the Burinell Hardness Test Machine has been realized with embedded and image recognition technology according to the current situation in the Burinell Hardness Test Machine field. high-performance S3C2410X 16/32 bit RISC microprocessor chip based on ARM920T core has been realized in the system,which has been extended to various interfaces to realize the different real-time control and the measure of the material Burinell Hardness.Firstly, the paper introduce the constitution of the measurement and control system and working principle;secondly,discuss the status of the development of the embedded system at present;and then ,design the soft and hardware of the system on emphasise,analyse the embedded system's transplant and image recognition in detail,do the brim distill to the collected amage by SUSAN arithmetic, recognise the diameter of the impress by Hough arithmetic, the value of the material Burinell Hardness will be worked out by correlation formular. At last,I put forward some opinions of mine toward to the drawback and betterment of the system.
