| Since it was incorporated into Linyi University, Linyi University Yishui Collegehas been developing rapidly, its enrollment scale continues to expand, and the numberof the students is getting larger and larger, especially after its relocation to the newcampus, the college has become much larger. In order to make school managementmore scientific and normative, the office building has realized office automation,informatization, and information management system has begun to be built. To thenew students’ dormitory, although there are advanced facilities and beautifulenvironment, it still uses manual management, this means except a waste of time andmanpower, there still exist some disadvantages: external persons’ pass in and out maybring potential safety hazard; sleeping timely can’t be strictly enforced; studentsexchange dormitories secretly. There is an urgent need of a set of perfect students’dormitory management system.This paper mainly adopts literature method and object oriented systemdevelopment method to research and design students’ dormitory management system.Based on a lot of literatures, it applies scientific methods, detailed system design,careful planning of each function module of the system. It uses Power Builder as adevelopment environment, and SQL Server as database to develop because ofconsiderable tables, the specific situation and the change of the students’ basicinformation. This is because the SQL Server is one of the most commonly useddatabases; it can store and read a large amount of data, so the SQL Server database isselected to design this software.Through this system, the students are required to put their campus cards in thecard reader, the computer system affirms whether he is the student in the building ornot, if he is, the door is opened automatically. The one who doesn’t stamp a card ordoes not have door opening authority is prohibited from entering, thus greatlyimproving dormitory safety coefficient. At the same time, it records the students’ getting in and out of dormitory in detail, such as the student’s name, time of getting inand out, and it can make attendance statistics analysis through the record, and canautomatically generate attendance statements. It used to be a major problem for theinstructors to examine the students’ sleeping during the night, through this system, thestudents’ backing late can be recorded minutely, if during a predetermined time period(such as a month), the late times reach an index value, the system will automaticallygenerate the list of students and offer a proposal to the school management, schooladministrators will make a timely treatment. On the occasion of emergency, theadministrative staff can also immediately open all the doors through managementsoftware, making sure that the students are evacuated timely, which conforms to thefire safety requirements.The innovation is adding dormitory door state preset function (in a certain periodof time the door is always in a normally open state, the dormitory manager controlsthe students’ getting in and out, the door will automatically return to a normal stateafter the period of designed time.) and dormitory intelligent management function (themanagement system particularly records the students’ getting in and out of theirdormitories, such as the student’s name, time etc.). Consequently the system can bedesigned in a certain period of time when there is a large flow of people, as during thestudents’ going to class, going back to their dormitories, the door is always in anormally open state, and during this time the managers control the students’ in and out,the door will automatically return to a normal state after the period of designed time.Then the dormitory management system minutely records the students’ getting in andout of their dormitories in real time, such as the names of the students, and the time ofin and out, and it can make attendance statistics analysis through the informationrecorded, and can automatically generate attendance statements. |
