With the promotion of the triple play and the business development needs, Ministry of Science formally signed the "National high performance broadband information network and China the next generation of radio and television innovation cooperation agreement" with the State Administration of Radio. The key technology of the next generation of broadcast networks (NGB) is based on the coaxial cable, through a variety of digital modulation technology to carry Ethernet services and other integrated services. It makes the next generation broadcast networks (NGB) of the user broadband access into true. NGB requests change the way of TV viewing, from the broadcast way to the way of watching favorite. NGB asks optimize the TV content in the depth and the breadth to continuously optimize and change the content "push" service mode, into a "choice" and "participation". The combination of service models; in the family, moving, car, enjoy the same field of radio and television services; to horizontal communication with other users, to meet these requirements, make the cable access network rebuild to the digital and double-sided structure.Now the HFC network architecture of the TV network is the broadcast structure, the network main transmit the radio signals. In the backbone network, the analog signal transformed from the head generator room to the subordinate engine room by broadcast way. Each optical node covers800-1000customers, each optical node directly accesses from the subordinate engine room. In the access network, there are huge of data customers in spite of CATV customers. In the digital and double-sided network, one optical node can cover300-500customers. Because of the network structure changes from broadcast network to double-sided network, the quantity of optical fiber are rapidly increased. Now the optical network cannot meet the demand.Because of the business development, the network must be rebuilt. Though of the network covering the number of customers and traffic, we can calculate the network bandwidth requirements and design the OTN network. According to the design of the OTN network, we need adjustment the fiber optical network, and increase the quantity of the fiber optical cable the network build up. According to the customers of the optical node covered and relieve the pressure of the optical fiber recourses in the subordinate engine room, this paper suggest make more machine room in the district and make the data customers access PTN network.This paper discusses the optical network rebuilding based on DOCSIS. This paper plans the rebuilding of one of the subordinate engine room. With user’s bandwidth demand is rising, the number of the optical node covering customers is getting smaller and smaller, this paper also carried out using the DOCSIS technology to achieve FTTH solution designed.
