As the half sky of human society, women do have a pivotal position in social culture. It is worth mentioning that the image of women can reflect women’s rights and values of the temporary society, social civilization and the level of development, even the psychological state in current period. Being a mirror, the image of women shaped by women’s magazines can reflect the reality look of the whole society.Women of China is the earliest and most authoritative women’s magazines in China. Therefore, this paper selects21years(1990-2011) issues of Women of China as the reaching samples which are cases of women’s magazines to shape the female image. According to the research, this paper illustrates the image of women from five aspects, the physical image, the education image, the political image, the professional image, the deeds image.With the growth of women’s media, Feminist theory is extensively spread through women’s magazines. Cut from the feminist point of view, this paper analyzes the feminist content of Women of China in different periods. After getting relevant statistics, the data of results will be analyzed. Divided into four sections, the paper researches in articles of Women of China about21years through the content analysis method and the above theories. The above analysis do have an important significance for understanding the images of women built by women’s magazines during the1990-2011. After concluded, the paper proposes recommendations to the contemporary Chinese media for shaping the image of women.
