“Important project, quality first” is stressed heavily in civil engineering area. With thedevelopment of the construction, more construction accidents emerge for the negligence indesign and construction. Subsequently, the quality of construction has become a great concernto the public. So non-destructive testing technology was born, as it can prevent the accidentsof construction works to a certain extent.Nowadays, GPR(Ground Penetrating Radar)technology has been widely used in manyfields, just as geological exploration, the detection of underground pipeline, the exploration ofmineral resources, the forecast of geological disasters, archaeological detectors, tunnelprediction, the investigation of eco-hydrological environment and so on. A high–precisionnon-destructive testing techniques have been widely applied in national engineering qualitydetection with the development of GPR technology as well as the development of nationaleconomy.In this paper, the test of engineering structures was used to detection of rod and tube-likein the concrete structures standard text pieces with GPR. Firstly, some experimental schemes,such as designing of samples, the layout of the test line, the selection of radar equipments andsetting of varies parameter of GPR before the experiment and so on,were necessary to designand analysis reasonably. We designed the test piece into a ladder like beam in which the rodand tube-like arrangement in a variety of ways,Then there would be a variety of differentenvironment of detection with GPR, in order to get radar detection as comprehensive aspossible. Then the author dealt with the data collected from the GPR with processing softwareGRED. Finally,some beneficial conclusion about detecting rod and tube-like in the reinforcedconcrete structures with GPR were obtained by analyzing the images that obtained through allkinds of different radar equipments and parameters. The radar images of rod tube-like whichgot from the test can be used as the basis of the radar images of rod tube-like in practicalengineering inspection.
