The lack of automation and recycling solution are the main problems in computer recycling. An automatic identification technology and a product model are the key points to those problems. RFID technology can improve the acquisition rate, accuracy. Wilhe the application of ontology solves the sematic descriptions of the product and realizes the integration of isomerous product information.Combined with the requirements of Powerleader Company, we design the computer product lifecycle model based on ontology and RFID, and we also build a system based on it. The RFID data acquisition, ontology processing and information application are three main techniques that have been research in this paper. The main work is listed as below:(1) According to requirement of the modern recycling, the UHF RFID technology is used, and we use the handheld RFID reader to obtain the data. The whole module realizes the wireless information communication, and it’s quite efficiency, fast and accuracy.(2) According to the diversity and heterogeneity of product recycling and product lifecycle, a recycle-oriented product lifecycle model is built by ontology. The model is a shareable platform during the whole product lifecycle, and it also realizes the sematic describe of the recycling information. An effective semantic processing model is provide to deal with the data from the RFID layer.(3) According to the requirements of product recycling and the management of product lifecycle, a recycle-oriented product lifecycle system is built. The system has the interface for manager, consumer and the recycling worker, which meets the different needs of different people.Through testing and certification, the system can realize the function of product recycling, and it also has the basic function of RFID data acquisition, wireless transportation, ontology recycling and application management. The whole system has some advantages, such as ontology semantic expression, cross-platform and flexibility, it can be applied widely.
