Along with the growth of the network user number year by year, the scale of thenetwork is expanding intensively while the human resource is becoming scarce. In suchnew situation, the traditional operation and maintenance (O&M) working pattern is notadapted to the O&M work anymore. Therefore, it has become a big problem in O&Mwork to make sure that the network equipment working in a stable and efficient state.The only way to solve such problem is to adopt automatic and intelligent method inequipment performance patrol and maintain the network equipment in a centralized way.However, there exist many disadvantages for the existing intelligent equipmentperformance patrol systems in at home. These systems can’t support many kinds ofnetwork elements. They are not so match with the current traffic network managementsystem, easy affected by the interface protocol when connecting directly with thenetwork elements and lack of internal monitoring mechanism. Moreover, they can’trecur to the history events and support the manual intervention.Consequently, it is necessary to develop new Mobile Switching Center intelligentpatrol system combing with the traffic network management system. Such new systemcan read the information of the network elements from traffic network managementsystem including the manufacturer, the type, the version and the online state. Then itcan send the patrol tasks which are configured by the backend platform to the networkelements which are located in different place. After the patrol tasks are finished, theresults can be reported to the same O&M platform for analysis and process. By suchcentralized analysis, the equipment failure can be found out forwardly and bebroadcasted as warnings. In this way, the equipment performance patrol work canbecome intelligent so that to save the human resource and promote the level ofequipment maintenance.In this dissertation, the principle and techniques of the Mobile Switching Centerintelligent patrol system are introduced and the B/S mode in such system is analyzedmainly. In the system, the patrol task is done using VB Script and Perl scripts combingwith the oracle data base. The data initialization, the interoperation among the interfaces, the network element connection, the command sending, data collection and the originalfile saving of the Mobile Switching Center are completed by VB Script script. And thePerl script is used to analyze the data for the expecting results and generate thecorresponding reports. Perl includes the functions which are used for patrol commandfile analysis. These functions can generate expecting results from the original filesaccording to the specific requirements of each patrol tasks. The uniform runningenvironment of the patrol post-processing scripts is provided by the FScript which isalso in charge of script running and interface support for the scripts if necessary.The whole process for building an intelligent Mobile Switching Center patrolsystem is introduced in detail in this dissertation including the system requirementanalysis, the system rules and function division, the patrol task configuring andcancelling and the system function tests.
