The21st century is the information age and the digital information revolution isaffecting human life. Image acquisition,transmission and processing plays an importantrole in the digital information revolution.Being a way to obtain images, CCD imagesensor has a series of advantages of small size, high resolution, high sensitivity, widedynamic range, wide spectral response range. It can obtain high-quality images and hasgreat market potential applications. In delevoped countries, the technology of highperformance Image acquisition and transmission system based on CCD image sensor isgetting more mature.However domestic technical force is relatively weak. Thus it ismeaningful to to study the high-performance CCD image acquisition and transmissionsystem and master independent property rights.Firstly the work principle and driving signals of Sony ICX282AQ (the large areaarray CCD image sensor) have been described in details. Several key technicalchallenges and problems of the system have been analyzed.Secondly a imageacquisition and transmission system which based on CCD image sensor has beendesigned. According to the workflow of the system, the system has been divided intothe image acquisition module and the image transfer module. CCD Signal Processor hasbeen used to generate the driving signals for CCD image sensor.By using CCD SignalProceesor as CCD driver, this system has great flexibility and can support a variety ofarea array CCD image sensor. A high-speed data transmission scheme has beendeveloped by using Cypress’s EZ-USB series USB2.0chip. Firmware,WDM Drvierand application program of Cy68013have been developed. Data theoretical rate of USB2.0is up to480Mbit/s, and the CCD image data of the high-speed transmission can beeffective.
