With the development of the modern techniques, traditional spectrophotometer cannot satisfy the need of current development. Research and application areas pose the higher demand of the spectrophotometer for its miniature size, fast speed, high precision, convenient usage, effective cost and so forth. Therefore, an easy-to-use spectrophotometer with high speed and high precision is studied in this dissertation. The dissertation presents a USB2.0-based implementation scheme for a spectrophotometric system with high speed and high precision. New pulse xenon light is adopted as the illuminant of the system; high accuracy photoelectric signal conversion is achieved by CMOS linear image sensor; the existent mature products are used in the spectrophotometric module. The detailed design of the system core is covered, in which the EZ-USB FX2 integrated the communication interface of USB2.0 acts as the spectral data acquisition system in the master chips, the process of which is rapid and accurate in spectral data acquisition. Meanwhile, the system has the features like convenience of subsequent development, plug and play, and effective cost.Based on the content of this dissertation, the status quo of the research and the principle behind working for the spectrophotometer are introduced firstly in this dissertation, and then the framework of the system is studied in five aspects, namely, standard lighting module, spectrophotometric module, electronic circuit module, data processing module and system linking plan. Furthermore, the design of the data acquisition system is discussed in detail including the hardware design, firmware design, device driver design and PC software program design. In the end, the design of the spectral data processing module is proposed. The dissertation has completed the detailed design of a spectrophotometric system, thereby setting the stage for the eventual implementation of spectrophotometer with high speed and precision.
