In recent years, with the continuous development and popularity of Internettechnology.Most universities have established their own campus network andinformation systems.Students can do many things through the campus network and ITsystem.For example,enrollment,course query and assignment,online-Q&A,pay thetuition fee,and so on.On the one hand,teachers can be plan the course,viewcourse,monitor the student’s learning,and so on.On the other hand,the university can bemanage students,tearchs and other teaching resources through it,and it greatly improvesthe quality of university teaching and management. In the early stage most university’sIT system were established for traditional teaching and management activities.But ingeneral the university of development ahead of the construction of IT system,so some ofthe emerging forms of teaching and resources can not manage using the existinginformation systems. For instance, Self-Taught Higher EducationExaminations(STExams for short) is rapid spread in this years,but the process ofSTExams from the recruitment,teaching,testing and management have manaydifferences with the traditional forms.So many universities existing IT system can notbe good to meet the needs of STEXams.For these situations,this paper presents the design and implementation of aSTEXams Management System to resolve this situations.The early needs of this systemobtains through the multiple field research in the relevant department of the people’sarmed police force academy of chengdu.By understanding the current teaching activitiesfor STEXams,and with the current academy of the actual using of IT systems andcurrent developments in IT,and we get the needs for design of STEXams ManagementSystem.The system using Microsoft’s.NET solution on the technology platform andimplementation.Software architecture with B/S structure.Using IIS6.0as the WEBserver.Using SP.NET as server-side develop environment.Back-end developmentlanguage for the C#.Front-end development for the JavaScript scripting language,and tobe used combined with jQuery.Database system using Microsoft’sSQLServer2000.System running on Microsoft Windows Server2003.In addition,the design of the interface at the front desk fully considered when the user-friendliness,convenience and simplicity, using AJAX technology to enhance the user experience.
