In the development process of domestic and foreign millimeter wave circuits and systems, transceiver has always been a hot issue in the research. However, it is rare to find domestic research and reports of circuits and systems with frequencies up to W-band. The main task of this topic is to design a W-band transceiver based on the hybrid integration technology.A brief introduction about the basic characteristics and typical applications of the millimeter-wave, and domestic and international development of millimeter-wave transceiver in recent years are presented in the paper firstly. Then, focusing on the research of W-band transceiver, the main work in this thesis is as follows:In the second chapter, the features and technical specifications of the pulse radar system, as well as the superheterodyne receiver are presented. A preliminary design of the W-band transceiver is developed.At the first of Chapter3, the theory and structure of W-band waveguide to microstrip probe transition are introduced. Then we designed and measured two different structures of probe transition. Secondly, a W-band3dB Wilkinson power divider with an arc-shaped section of the impedance transformation is designed. After that, a T-shaped dual-mode resonator broadband filters and a compact narrow-band dual-mode filter which is used for harmonic suppression are designed.The fourth chapter describes the principles and technical specifications of the millimeter-wave mixers and amplifiers, and currently available W-band mixer and amplifier monolithics. Select the appropriate monolithics, and IF amplifier. Design and test the W-band low noise amplifier separately.Develop the final design of W-band transceiver using the designed passive circuits and selected solid-state circuits. Circuits of upper and lower levels and the cavity of the transceiver are designed synchetically. Complete the fabrication, debugging and testing of the transceiver.At last, analyze the test results, and sum up relevant experience.
