Transceiver plays an important part in microwave and millimeter-wave integrated circuits and systems, it affects the performance of the whole system greatly. The research on 3mm transceiver is always one of the important parts in millimeter-wave technology. This paper mainly focuses on the research of 3mm transceiver which is on the basis of the technology of hybrid integration.A brief introduction about the characteristics and application of the millimeter-wave, and the recent development tendency of transceiver are presented in the paper firstly. The main work in this thesis is as follows:At first, the structure of waveguide to microstrip transition at W-band is studied. Two different structures of waveguide to microstrip probe transition which can be used in 3mm transceiver are designed, good measurement results are achieved. Meanwhile, the structure of waveguide to finline microstrip transition is designed and simulated.Then, the power divider at W-band is researched. Three different structures of power divider are designed and compared, including Wilkinson power divider, waveguide coupler and microstrip coupler.Meanwhile, a novel wideband bandpass filter with shunt open-circuited stubs is presented. The measurement result shows good agreement with the simulation result. This bandpass filter is particularly suitable for LO multiplier chains.After that, the main technical indicators of the 3mm transceiver are analyzed, the MMIC used in the transceiver is selected, and the indicators of receiving trace and transmiting trace are estimated.What is more, the low noise amplifier and driven power amplifier at W-band are fabricated and tested.Finally, the circuit diagram of the 3mm transceiver is designed; the transceiver is fabricated, assembled, debugged, and tested. The measurement results have been analyzed in detail.
