As a subsystem of high-frequency front-end, millimeter-wave transceiver modules are the very important component of radar, navigation, electronic warfare and communications and other areas.Through the analysis and research of the transmitting access and receive access, this paper has put forward three possible projects. The first is a single-mixer project, then through the project simulation a two-mixer project is present. Further more, based on this project the initial product is present. At last, this paper presents an improved single-mixer project possible project through the test and analysis of the initial product. The improved two-mixer project is regard as the final design project by analyzing and comparing the three projects.Milimeter-wave circuits, basic cell of millimeter-wave transceiver modules, a large extent determine the merits of the millimeter-wave transceiver modules. The paper is mainly on in-depth study of the theory and design of millimeter-wave transceiver modules from the active circuits and passive circuits.First,this pape analyses the key passive circuits of the millimeter-wave transceiver modules, milimeter-wave band-pass filter (E-fin line filter), millimeter-wave power divider (Wilkinson divider), millimeter-wave waveguide-microstrip transitions. And then combining the target of the millimeter-wave transceiver modules, this paper analyses and choose the millimeter-wave amplifier (power amplifier, low noise amplifier, etc.), millimeter-wave switches, millimeter-wave mixing, switching drives, and other key active circuits.Reliability is an important issue of this paper, It directly determines the practicality in the harsh environment.This paper in-depth research and analyzes the reliability issues in this transceiver modules mainly from the design of reliability,test of reliability, modeling and distribution of reliability.Based on the ultimate project and hybrid integration technology the dual-channel transmit,dual-channel receive, Ka-band millimeter-wave transceiver modules is fabricated in the 120 mm×60mm×20mm cavity.Through the testing,the important system indicators are as follows.Output power 500-600mW, two-output power difference≤28.9mW, phasic noise≤-76.8dBc/Hz@10kHz, receiver noise figure≤9.2dB,output switching on-off radio≥72.8dB, input switching on-off radio≥46.2dB, transmitting channel separation≥63.4dB, switching speed<5nS,etc.Through series of reliability tests, it is proved that the millimeter-wave transceiver modules fully achieves the practical using needs.
