In order to achieve a modern and intellectual transformation of the power grid for agriculture, the dissertation introduces a new administrative methodology for power usage and payment methods, which can be applied in the upgrade of the agricultural power grid. Upon the completion of the upgrade, an IC card is required for power use. The IC card can be obtained from electric power company and is rechargeable at every electric power service center. On the IC card reader, the power usage and the value remains will be displayed and updated constantly. It can also give off alarm signals to avoid you a power cut off, because of insufficient funds left on the IC card.C8051F020is adopted as MCU in this dissertation. Smart card with security logic SLE4442is chosen to store the information on power usage.Ferroelectric RAM(FRAM) FM25CL64is to hold the information which is obtained on the IC card by the IC card reader. The main controller controls the magnetic latching relay chip BL8023to cut off and reconnect the power, according to the power usage information,at the same time, it reads the power meter and update the power usage information stored on FRAM.apart from that, the main controller can also update its own information which was stored on the service center terminals by GSM modem, thus the service center terminals can easily manage every main controller the other way around.This dissertation introduces the history and background of the topic in the industry first, then follows with a detailed discussion of the whole design, particularly on the terminal controller, based on the needs of the whole upgrade of the project. Hardware-wise, circuit designs of every part of the controller are mainly discussed. Software-wise, program designs are mainly discussed, which includes:program for IC card reader, program for power meter communication,program for GSM communication and program for the upper computer in management system. In the end, it also briefly discusses the procedures of installation and tests for the system.
