The high-speed sampling real-time storage systems with characteristics ofhigh-speed sampling, mass-storage and data inversion have large requirements in thefield of defense military, aerospace and digital communication. This paper uses the PCIExpress Switch structure to study a high-speed sampling real-time storage system withreasonable structure and low cost.Firstly, the paper analyzes solutions of the traditional high-speed storage systemand its problem of low storage efficiency. Combining high-speed PCI Express andmemory mapping technology, a mass-storage system is developed to meet the demandof the high-speed sampling design. The hardware of system includes acquisition andtransmission, bus backplane, disk arrays and host, and a PCI Express Switch backmodule which is independent from host is newly introduced into the system. And thesampling storage module is connected with host through the bus backplane in physics,so it has good extension, upgrade features, and its heat treatment is more reasonable.While introducing the design principle of each hardware modules in detail, thedesign revision and solving measures are discussed to solve the problems in high-speedcircuit designing, such as serial bus design in PCI Express Switch circuit, stack-updesign of high speed PCB, and trace of the high speed micro-strip, etc.Based on VC++and the SDK offered by the company of PLX, the software systemhas finished the design of instrument driver and the control applications program ofhigh-speed storage system. And the application software designing of high-speedreal-time storage system is realized by Ring buffer design, multi-threading technology,Block DMA and memory mapping techniques. The design of data inversion is based onVC++and Measurement Studio development platform. And the control interface of thedata inversion provides cursor positioning and image scaling to help users to search orobservation the data more directly and read the data easily.At present, the hardware and software design and commissioning of high-speedstorage system has been completed, which can meet the design demands for sustainedtransfer of high-speed sampled data stored. Through a long-time running and testing, the system is running stable and data store is true and complete, and a single PCI Expresschannel’s continuous recording speed can reach170MB/s, storage depth can reach1TB.
