In the various segments of data acquisition, storage and processing, the storage is a fundamental aspect of the overall situation. But in the key military and industrial application, magnetic disk-based storage systems can no longer satisfy the requirements of performance and reliability at the same time.In view of the current problems and challenges that magnetic disk storage systems faced in the military and other critical applications, this paper put forward a solid-state storage array systems technology as the solution.The paper places most importance on deploying a high-performance and flexible structured storage architecture. The architecture is based on Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) technology, and integrated with the IOP348 RAID-on-chip processor and SATA solid-state disk.Based on the structure, the PCI Express transmission channel is designed for nearby storage application as well as Fiber Channel for long-distance storage application. At the same time, SAS cascade expanding port is designed in order to expand the capacity and enhance the performance of the entire storage system. A variety of high-speed serial transmission channel used for the storage system provides enough wide bandwidth. A SATA SSD is implemented through research and design of the SATA protocol logic cells, as well as NAND FLASH management.The IOP348 processor provides the advanced features of RAID through the hardware acceleration engines and Cache policy. Furthermore, both a 3U CPCIe form-factor storage device and a normal 1U disk array are realized to meet the special mass storage requirement in the military and industrial area. The solid state storage array system can effectively break the magnetic storage systems technical bottlenecks caused by the challenge of high-speed data storage under the rugged environmental conditions.
