With the realization of “Pave Pillar” and “Pave Pace” in the4thAvionics Systemsuccessfully, the new proposed electronic equipment structure—Linear ReplaceableModule—is put widely attention on. LRM is gradually used in various electronicsystems, and it has been the developmental orientation in the electronic systemdefinitely. A LRM module can fulfill digital, analog, power or fiber signalcommunication in one module. This dissertation combined the LRM modulestandard—ASAAC (Allied Standard Avionics Architecture Council), and theCompactPCI bus standard to design the LRM module, which was applied in the radarsignal simulator. The contents of this dissertation are followed:1. This dissertation researched the origin background, the character and the currentresearch status home and aboard of the LRM module, and attached importance on theEuropean ASAAC Standard, including the LRM structure, the LRM Common FunctionModule and the package.2. According to the LRM standard, Chinese military standards (GJB) andCompactPCI Specification, this dissertation predicted the indexes of the reliability ofthe radar signal simulator, including the system reliability, the structure reliability andthe electrical reliability.3. In light of the requirement of the radar signal simulator, this dissertationpresented the frame of this system and divided it into different function module. Besides,the design of the rack, LRM module structure and the backplane structure wereproposed in this dissertation. And the3D simulation pictures of all parts of this systemwere given by the CAD software.4. Based on the structure of this the radar signal simulator system, electricalconnection are designed, which realized the digital signal communication and radiofrequency signal communication. The CompactPCI bus was the principal part in digitalcommunication, and the USB bus was the subordinate part. This dissertation convertedthe CPCI signal and USB signal from the single-board-computer to LRM connector bythe CPCI-LRM converting board. The key point in this dissertation was the design of backboard, which realized the connection of each LRM module.5. Utilized the I-DEAS software to test the structure reliability of radar signalsimulator, involving the stress, the strain of the backplane and the hot analysis of therack. Used the HyperLynx software to validate the electrical reliability of convertingboard and the backplane, realizing the signal integrate analysis, which were composedof the reflection of one signal, the crosstalk of multiple signals and the EMC (ElectroMagnetic Compatibility). Besides, the technique and the S-parameter of the realbackplane were tested.
