The internet is described as the "Public Space" by Juergen Habermas, which is regarded as "the Free Market of Ideas" by John Milton. This is a stage that users can perform any roles they expect on it. However, they find themselves "known to the world, friend to none". Dickens’s A Tale of Two Cities has a wonderful description for the situation:This is one of the best times, it was one of the worst times.From BBS to twitter, netizens have been in a situation of surround-to-watch" and been watching. From MSN to Facebook, they echo each other harmoniously. But, there is such a large amount of persons, they registered account numbers of all the major social networks, but say nothing on them. Their PC clients are always online, but being invisible. They are so silence just like aphasias, and they need some attention.These years, some website like "Network Drift Bottles" and "PostSecret" become widespread, which almost as popular as twitter and facebook. It likes a signal that something new would happen to interpersonal communication on the net. These disseminators transmit on web, which is used for mass communication, to any direction. However, the procedure of the communication, different from traditional, is not "Disseminator-Audient", but "Disseminator-Imaginary audience". The results of the transmission is not important, they write, they press the button of "OK", and they get it.The research object of the paper is this new mode of communication. Disseminators can hidden themselves when release information by anonymity, it is unnecessary to get a fact receiver after transmitting, neither feedback. What they need is just something to express their feelings. They imagine that they have audiences, understanding them, supporting them, listening to them patiently, and they can make friends with their imaginary audiences. And their spiritual needs get satisfied. They write something meaningless, personal emotion, daily life, weird symbols, and no one would response if they show in public.The result of investigation indicated that the response rate for this way of communication is much higher than expected of disseminators. But the relationship between users is untwisting, few of them have regular communicatee. This appears to be abnormal, but relax enough to exchange their emotion and secrets. Both disseminators and audiences are unknown for the other side, no directly communication happens, what makes them contact is the contents what they transmit, It is pure.This paper draws some knowledge of sociology, psychology and other disciplines about the interpersonal relationships and network communications, divided into five chapters:chapter1, introduction, introduce something basic about the network drift bottles, the reason to select this subject, the research methods and so on; chapter2, according to a survey of1279samples (in which381ones were picked up and809ones were feedbacks, because parts of the reply to the questionnaire is incomplete, but questions are dependently from each other, so the sample data of each charts is slightly different) to explore the common character among the disseminator who participate in the "Dissemination with Imaginary Audience"; chapter3, compare the current mainstream network communication modes to analyze the advantage of "Dissemination with Imaginary Audience"; chapter4, about the social background and psychological factors; chapter5, forecast about this mode of transmission.
