Research On The Application Of Virtual Reality Technology In Household Electrical Appliances Design

During the new household electrical appliances (HEA) development process, from requirements analysis, market orientation to products launch, the user’s products evaluation has become the key to success or failure of development. While virtual reality technology as an emerging technology, can aid design researchers obtaining more accurate using information and market demand information in the products needing analysis phase and user testing stage. This paper using the virtual reality technology as the platform for obtaining information, taking the platen washing machine design for case, simulating real products using situation and environment, through the virtual displaying and experiencing the conceptual virtual washing machine, obtain the reliable information. Then modify the design and put it on the market, and get the final design success. There are four main parts of the full text:(1) Put forward HEA virtual design method by analyzing HEA virtual design status and significance. Meanwhile, Kansei engineering as the guiding ideology of HEA virtual design, it has become a perfect bridge to link up virtual reality with HEA design, and service for the human centered design.(2) HEA virtual design method is based on the network media. we has analyzed the main technological elements of HEA virtual design, and has completed virtual design framework based on network media.(3) In this section, we make a detailed analysis on aesthetic elements of HEA virtual design. It focuses on design experience about color, material, form and environment system. At the same time, discussing the existence form of virtual aesthetics and creation essentials, it has become the aesthetic principle of the HEA virtual design.(4) Taking platen washing machine design as an example, from products design to the virtual reality modeling, we has established a simple washing machine virtual design system. Then constructing a real network experience platform, it can aid designer drawing the final design results through analyzing the user’s information before the design.Comparing with the current stage of product design method, HEA virtual design has better accurate and specific information acquisition mechanism, and make the effective test design scheme, find the shortage of the design. It can provide Detail Reference for new design and make a good guidance for later development, so there will be more economic cost and efficient design. The HEA virtual design will get better and deeper development in the areas of design and virtual display with network and3D display technology maturity.
