With the rapid development of mobile communication all over the word, mobilecommunication system is upgrading in capacity and quality continually, more requirementsare put forward for the base station antenna. In order to cut down the cost of building newbase station, design of multi-frequency base station antenna which can be shared by multiplesystems will get more and more attention. As a result, this paper applies to design andinvestigate of multi-frequency nested base station antenna.Firstly, this paper analyzed the side-by-side antenna and found that some radiationparameters are deteriorated due to the asymmetry of the boundary conditions; at the sametime we found that the structure of nested antenna can overcome these shortcomings. So, thenext this paper mainly focuses on analyzing the ultra-wideband nested antenna. In order tobreak through the technical bottleneck in realizing ultra-wideband nested antenna, manyimproved methods are used, for example, elevated the high-frequency radiation unit, changedthe spacing and number of radiation unit, optimized the boundary conditions and so on. In theend, an optimal way to achieve ultra-wideband nested antenna was put forward. What’s more,in order to convenient to research the gain and side lobe characteristics in nested form, wechose part of the ultra-wideband to analyze and design a high gain and low side lobemulti-frequency nested base station antenna. By analyzing the influence the magnitude andphase of incentive exerts upon antenna arrays shaped-beam patterns, an optimized method ofshaped-beam patterns was proposed. In the end, details of measured results are given and analyzed, the differences betweenmeasured and simulated results are also discussed through theoretical analysis.
