Research On Conformal Microstrip Phased Array Antenna With Low Side Lobe In Ka Band

Phased array made by microstrip antenna has developed and been studied for many years, it plays an increasingly important role in Military, Aeronautics and Astronautics , Wireless Communication. With the increasing complexity of electromagnetic environment,communication and military applications brings up higher request for the antenna technology. In engineering application,characters of antenna are taken different attention. One of characters--lower side-lobe is particularly important when considering the suppressing of the ground clutter, avoiding the false alert of radar, improving anti-interference ability and security. Lower side-lobe has been the most important under certain circumstance.Be established in practical necessity, this thesis researches the theory and technology of lower side-lobe microstrip antenna array in order to serve terminal guidance of missile and rocket in the field of Aeronautics and Astronautics, ultimately design some antenna arrays with lower side-lobe. The principal aspects of this thesis includes the design of microstrip antenna unit:simulation and theory of equal and unequal power divider parallel feed network;the design of 8×1 and 8×8 lower side-lobe arrays, for comparison, design 8×1 and 8×8 arrays with equal amplitude feeder. Starting from antenna array analysis, discussing methods of phased array, then calculating the Dolph-Chebyshev array using Radiation Pattern Synthesis method. In the end completing the simulation and optimize of the arrays which has designed through CST microwave studio.According to particular work environment,making the plane arrays conform to cylindrical surface, this will contribute to technology of terminal guidance. Guarantee the performance of the antenna, conformal microstrip antennas reduce the volume effectively, lower the inconvenience from the design of antenna array. This is not only the extension of excogitation, but also necessary. On the basis of plane arrays and conformal array antenna theory, finishing the simulation and optimize of the antenna and the arrays.
