IP traffic growth trends in China Mobile2G GSM&3G TD network’s Abis interface and lub interface make existing SDH networks can not meet the requirements. IP RAN backhaul network has therefore become a choice for the next generation RAN backhaul solutions.Traditional SDH network is gradually replaced gradually. There were two different ways of RAN backhual, IP RAN and PTN. IP RAN combines the IP/MPLS and Enhanced Ethernet as a method to provide the base station backhaul solution, with full-service access to provide capacity.PTN typical manufacturers Huawei, ZTE, Alcatel-Lucent and other traditional transmission manufacturers, building a network concept for the overlay network, multilayer network to provide different services were carrying. PTN itself can only provide the ground and first floor of the bearer, for the three large metropolitan business over the stack to be routed in the PTN networks, through the multi-layer overlay networks within the city full-service load.IP RAN can make use of multi-service network within the city for more higher-value broadband services for VIP individual users, such as IPTV, VoD video on demand, IMS, WLAN services, etc., through reasonable network design and planning, to improve overall network security, reliability and efficiency.This thesis includes three major parts:(1) RAN backhaul network current situation and requirement for IP based method for data return to core network. There are two ways PTN and IP RAN to reach the result.(2) A brief description of the evolution of full-service integrated network;(3) IP RAN deployment.
