Clock synchronization is used widely in computer network. At present, almost every router have clock synchronization applications; in the field of sensor, some devices begin to use clock synchronization which has rapid development; meanwhile, clock synchronization lead a very important role in the study of distrubuted system. Clock synchronization is the foundation of many key application based on network. Generally speaking, the definition of clock synchronization is to make the local computer clock concurrent with a standard clock source. There are two steps to keep the two clocks synchronized, making phase synchronized and frequency synchronized. When the two aspects are maintained the difference between two clocks be bounded in a fixed small range and long-term in a relatively stable state, the synchronization target has reached. At the first of this paper the analysis model of computer clock is discussed and the existing synchronization algorithms are summarized. In particular, Network Time Protocol used most widely used on internet is detailed, some algorithm of which for instance filter algorithm, selection algorithm and clock combine algorithm are introduced in brief. And then we develop our own based on the filter, select, combine algorithm experimental software platform, and through the the data collected from the program we analysis these algorithms. By in-depth discussion of the result, we propose improvements based on program clock server. Subsequently, the new mechanisms of computer clock model and a systematic set of strategies are proposed. The implementation algorithm is designed based on existing algorithm in order to maintain accuracy and robustness. Finally, the mechanism is developed and its validation is done on a normal computer server which can supply the time services to the slave node and client. The performance and robustness of the mechanism is evaluated by more than 60 hours testing with artificial Gaussian noise.
