This paper is an incremental work, mainly on the basis of the classical LEACH clustering routing mechanism’s improvement and perfection for heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Networks, which is different nodes in the networks play different roles and different nodes have different data transfer rates, and a RDCR clustering routing algorithm is proposed, and on the basis of this clustering routing mechanism, we proposed a two-tier data fusion mechanism. Generally speaking, this paper improves and perfects from the following two aspects.First, Modify the cluster head node selection mechanism, the novel algorithm considers the different data transfer rates among different nodes. Compared with LEACH algorithm, RDCR algorithm adjusts the threshold of node to be cluster head. It reduces the probability and frequency of high rate nodes to become cluster head, which lengthen life of high rate nodes.Second, modify the data transfer phase, we combined the characteristics of clustering routing algorithm, and adopted two-layer data fusion technology. The first layer is about the data fusion between cluster node and cluster-head node. Cluster node determines whether to send data according to threshold. In terms of received data, cluster-head conducts consistency check to the data, excluding abnormal data. At second layer, BP neural network algorithm is adopted to fuse data between head-cluster node and base station.Finally, our works are summarized, and next outlook was proposed.
