Based on some obstacle encountered in the course of the acousto-optical correlation study, which are the inconsistency of the acousto-optic devices and the complexity of the optical system, a New Acousto-Optical Correlation Structure (NAOCS) is provided. Digital signal processing techniques are used for the data fusion of acousto-optic signals; it makes the Acousto-Optical Signals Fusion Digital Processing System (AOSFDPS) which is designed in this thesis one of the most important parts of the NAOCS. The hardware of the AOSFDPS is designed and manufactured; the corresponding software is programmed to achieve the intended function of the AOSFDPS. In order to perform the functional verification for the AOSFDPS, the optical system of an acousto-optical correlator is set up and an experiment program is studied out.Based on the functional requirements, the AOSFDPS is divided into seven functional modules, which are Acousto-Optic Signal Acquisition Module (AOSAM), A/D Module, Acousto-Optic Signal Pre-processing Module (AOSPM), Digital Signal Transmission Module (DSTM), Data Fusion Digital Processing Module (DFDPM), Host Computer Communication Module (HCCM) and Real-Time Data Display Module (RTDDM). CCD, A/D, FPGA, dual-core DSP and USB controller are the key devices of these seven modules. In the hardware design of the AOSFDPS, CCD is used as the optoelectronic detector; A/D is used as the Analog to digital converter; FPGA is the key device of the AOSPM; dual-core DSP is the key device of the DFDPM, HCCM and the RTDDM. Timing driving pulses of the CCD, sampling clock of the A/D, FIFO and the nonlinear correction and filtering procedures are programmed in the Verilog HDL; The initialization procedures for dual-core DSP and the USB Firmware are programmed in the C language.The functional verification of the AOSFDPS is performed by using the AOSFDPS and the7ID001S uncooled linear CCD to acquire and process the output signals of the non-coherent time integration acousto-optic correlator, which is set up in this thesis, under the same condition and comparing the results of the tow systems. Nonlinear correction and filtering algorithms are designed to correct the nonlinear of the experimental data and extract the correlation peaks. According to the similarity of the correlation peaks of the tow systems, the function of the AOSFDPS is verified.
