Automotive electronic software is becoming increasingly complicated nowadays, as a result, its maintenance, updation, and integration turn out to be big issues. In order to solve these problems, automobile manufacturers, suppliers and tool developers gradually form organizations aimed to the standardization of automotive software development.This paper mainly focuses on automotive communication network and achieves a hierarchical communication system- SmartSAR COM according to AUTOSAR COM Standard which is an open and standardized automotive software architecture. SmartSAR COM is a layered communication system that consists of five layers, COM Layer, PDU Router Layer, TransPort Layer, Interface Layer, and Driver Layer. It can provide user-oriented abstraction layers and hardware-oriented driver layers.The main works of this thesis are summarized as follows.1) Design and implement a communications system SmartSAR COM which is compatible with AUTOSAR COM specification. Currently, we have accomplished all layers based on CAN bus.2) Introduce Sporadic Server algorithm into SmartSAR OS which is compatible with AUTOSAR OS. As long as the schedulability of aperiodic tasks is improved, the efficiency of communication tasks is guaranteed.3) Design application cases and analysis the funtions of SmartSAR COM. Based on applications of automotive communication network, we haved design a taillights control module and oxygen sensor diagnostic test system.
