Nowadays, the wireless transceiver develops as the direction of widebandcoverage and multi-band fast switch. The control efficiency becomes an aspect thatwill affect the performance of the transceiver. The thesis designs a control platform forthe RF front-end of a wideband wireless transceiver, which can achieve intelligent andefficient control of the modules.The control platform designed is combined with the CPCI (Compact PeripheralComponent Interconnect) standard, which can ensure the transmission speed of thecontrol words. The fast control of the RF front-end mainly reflects in the frequencysource board. Control words are transferred through CPCI bus. The control platformdecodes the words to carry out control of channel switch and frequency hop in thefrequency source. After some feasible methods are compared, the platform last choosesthe DSP chip. The DSP chip TMS320DM6437integrated with CPCI interface is incharge of communication with the CPCI bus and is programmed to decode andtransmit the control words. The control platform uses the peripheral of DSP chip toconnect with other chips on the local oscillator board. Through the control of localoscillator board, frequency source is provided for the whole RF front-end, which canmeet the tuning time requirement. DSP chip needs to communicate with themicrocontroller on the receiver and transmitter board, so that can achieve the wholecontrol of the RF front-end.The thesis firstly analyses the control demand of the RF front-end and expatiatesthe solution to intelligently control the frequency switch of this wireless transceiver,with a description of the CPCI bus standard. Then it proposes a specific method tocarry out the broadband transceiver control platform based on the CPCI bus, anddetailed introduces design of the hardware, including the board structure, how to usethe core components, achievement of the interface function, and the PCB design.Lastly the circuit function verification, the debugging and code test is introduced.
