Portable maintenance aid device could provide the functions involving takingpicture, browsing interactive technical manuals, communicating and so forth, tocommunicate with workers in Maintenance Service Center though wireless network toacquire remote technical support.According to the requirements of civil maintenance, portable maintenance aiddevice with low power consumption was designed associated with embedded systemand low power technology. Our contributions are as follows:1. The tasks of building up the platform of hardware of portable maintenance aiddevice were finished, consisting of selecting the chips of various units ofdevice, designing schematic and PCB, testing the whole system, designingmodule of the device in terms of electromagnetic shielding of metal, size, heatradiation, and multi-interface.2. Three steps including modifying clock management of embeddedmicroprocessor, designing the program of screen saver and transforming themode of microprocessor were proposed according to the analysis of powerconsumption of each unit in our device associated with some method withrespect to low the power consumption in the view of software.3. We verified the steps we designed in the platform of hardware. The date ofpower consumption of the whole system domesticated the value of our steps tolower the whole consumption.4. The whole system was tested to verify the functions of device involving takingpicture, browsing interactive technical manuals, communicating and so forth.The result domesticated that our system could provide those functionsproperly.
